Avenyn and Gothenburg
If you come to the city centre, you will soon encounter the Avenyn, because it runs right through the city. The Avenyn is where everyone seems to hang out at one time or another. It is full of bars and trendy pubs, and lots of night clubs. Tourists can't help bing drawn here, but my tip would be not to spend too long here, because there is so much more to be seen in Zurich outside of the Avenyn and if you're not careful, you will find that you are spending all of your time here! You have to ration your time a little so that you don't miss out on other things, like the City Hall (Radhuset), Skanska Skyscraper and the Gothenburg Aquarium, or a boat ride on the canals and around the Lilla Bommen.

The Liseberg Amusement Park
If you come to Gothenburg and are looking for a day out at the theme park, the Liseberg Amusement Park is probably the place for you. We loved it, particularly the wooden roller coaster. Liseberg has a very good reputation and is actually Scandinavia's biggest theme park, so as you can imagine - it is pretty big. There were lots of fast rides and log flumes, and a tall tower with city views from the top.

Marstrand and the Carlsten Fortress
We came to Marstrand to visit the Carlsten Fortress. Marstrand is a pretty town of a small island near to Gothenburg. It is connected by buses from the city centre. However, we decided to take a ferry and caught it from Lilla Bommen, because we thought it would be a bit more fun.

Bars along the Linnegatan
The Linnegatan has loads and loads of bars and a very relaxed atmosphere. This is a good place to eat, drink and be merry. The Slottskogen is at one end and worth walking around after you've finished properly exploring the Linnegatan.
