Many tourists come to Gothenburg to simply spend a day or two at Sweden's leading attraction, the Liseberg Amusement Park, which is situated to the south-east of the actual city centre and receives more than three million visitors annually. Ride the Balder roller coaster if you dare and reach speeds of 90 kph / 56 miles. Alternatively, you can head to Gothenburg's lively beach resorts of Askims, Langedrag and Saltholmen, sightsee onboard an inexpensive tram, or enjoy a trip around the Lilla Bommen harbour, on the beautiful Barken Viking sailing ship. Gothenburg City Hall (Radhuset) dominates the Gustav Adolfs Square in the city centre, and nearby, the Stock Exchange (Börsen) stands high above the Stortorget Square. Next to the Rosenlund Canal, the Feskekörka (Fish Church) deserves a mention, as does the campus of the University of Gothenburg and its many impressive buildings, which are home to over 50,000 students. The world's biggest floating ship museum of Maritiman contains around 20+ historical vessels and even a long submarine, while the new and extremely futuristic Varldskulturmuset (Museum of World and Culture) is also worth finding, where you can immerse yourself in multimedia exhibits. Also close to Gothenburg is the continental and vibrant city of Malmo, which is linked to neighbouring Copenhagen by the Oresund Bridge and tunnel.
